Wayne Stubbs is a Professional Development Associate for The Leadership and Learning Center. He is a former band director who taught at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. His administrative experiences include middle school assistant principal, Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction, and he currently serves as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum/Instruction in Indiana.
Wayne’s focus includes data driven decision-making and the data team model. He works with the administration of his district to implement and monitor these initiatives, as they work collaboratively with a “laser like focus” to improve student achievement. As a practicing district-level administrator, Wayne has seen first-hand the effects and challenges of No Child Left Behind, and has experienced the needs of all educators as schools and districts must make changes as a result of not making AYP.
Wayne’s educational experiences have included work in small rural districts, medium suburban districts, and large urban districts. His experiences include working closely with districts to bring change in order to better support the needs of all student groups.
Wayne has presented to a wide range of educators at both the district and state levels. As an educator with over thirty years of experience, he brings a wide range of knowledge to assist schools in their quest for improving student achievement. The 2007 winter edition of “Focus on Achievement” highlights the work being done in the Concord Community Schools.
Mr. Stubbs completed his undergraduate, graduate, and Specialist in Education – School Superintendency from Ball State University.
Wayne resides in Elkhart, Indiana with his wife and family. He enjoys playing golf, spending time with his wife and two sons, and reading books on leadership.
