Tracey has been a Professional Development Associate with The Leadership and Learning Center since September 2005. She has worn many hats during her years in the education field. Her most recent district position was that of Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction in the Waterloo Central School District, located in the Finger Lakes Region of New York. She also served as the Interim Superintendent for several months in Waterloo, but her heart is in curriculum and instruction. Her administrative positions prior to working in the Waterloo Central School District include School Business Administrator and Middle School Principal. Her career in education began as a social studies teacher at the middle-school level, followed her role as a middle-school remedial-reading teacher, focusing on content-area reading.
As an administrator at the district and building level, Tracey has held administrators and both instructional and non-instructional staff accountable through a variety of structures, in order to promote school improvement; and emphasizes researched-based professional development for school improvement Facilitation skills are an area of strength for Tracey, who organized and facilitated the development of a variety of school plans including a Professional Development Plan and Annual Professional Performance Review Plan, which focused on the evaluation of instructional staff. She also established Data Teams in Waterloo, which provided an opportunity for staff to have collegial conversations and to focus on teaching and learning.
In addition to providing professional development workshops in the areas of data analysis, content-area reading, and school finance, Tracey supervised graduate students in the diagnosis and remediation of disabled readers as a Reading Clinician at Syracuse University, and was an adjunct professor at SUNY Cortland where she co-taught a graduate course called “The Principalship.”
Tracey holds a C.A.S. in Educational Administration from SUNY Oswego, an M.S. in Reading from Syracuse University and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Richmond.
Tracey and John, her lifelong partner, reside in beautiful Skaneateles, New York. They enjoy entertaining, golfing, and traveling.
